  • InTheDesert asked on Tue, 14 Jul, 2009
Is by a urine sample? Thinking so, not sure how a blood sample would show anything up? or would it? And from moderate to severe UTI, what treatment would be used? Need to know before going to the doctor so i know what to expect. Thanks!

yes, they would do a urine sample. and they would prescribe antibiotics, depending how bad your uti is.
  • PJ replied on Tue, 14 Jul, 2009
Yes, you pee in a cup and they look for bacteria and pus cells. If you have an infection your white blood cell count goes up. Blood tests would detect that. Usually they have you pee in a cup. They treat it with antibiotics. Start drinking LOTS and LOTS of water right now. It will help.
